NEAL SCOTT MUIR
FOREVER 34
March 20, 1982 - December 31, 2016
A mother just knows and by August of 2015, Marilyn new something was very wrong with her son. He was isolating himself and never seemed to have money though he held down a good paying job. Things continued to go terribly wrong until finally he had lost everything that had once mattered to him, including his relationship with family.
Marilyn, a career Emergency Department nurse in her community, had witnessed a raise in number of patients coming through the department who had suffered an overdose from fentanyl being laced into their drugs. She feared the same fate would find her son. The call that confirmed that fear came at 6:00 am the morning of December 26th, telling her that Neal had been found vital signs absent for a period of at least 45 minutes before being revived. By day 3 they knew for sure he had suffered severe and irreversible brain damage.
On December 31st, 2016, after family and friends had all said their goodbyes, it was just Marilyn left to sit with her child and watch over him as he took his last breath.
